Evelyn R. Miller, age 89, of Menomonie, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Myrtle Werth Hospital-Mayo Health System in Menomonie.

She was born in the Town of Spring Brook to Johan and Betsy (Berg) Sneen on Feb. 19, 1911, and was baptized and confirmed in the Spring Brook Church. Evelyn attended the Fosbroke School.

She married Walter Miller on Aug. 29, 1930, in Menomonie. They bought a farm in the town of Red Cedar and continued farming in the area for many years. After Walter's death, Evelyn moved to an apartment in Menomonie.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Women's Auxiliary, as well as the Bountivale Homemakers. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

She is survived by a sister, Gladys Miller of Menomonie; two brothers, Philip (Sylvia) Sneen of Eau Claire and Donald (Jean) Sneen of Sioux Falls, SD; one brother-in-law, Francis (Faith) Miller of Rice Lake; four sisters-in-law, Audrey (Gene) Schneider, Edna Miller and Beatrice Miller, all of Menomonie, and Bobbie Miller of Bird City, Kans.; special friend Rose Hall of Menomonie and her children, Ron, Steve and Lori, and special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister, Florence Sneen; a brother, Adrian Sneen, and foster son Don Hall.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000) at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Rev. David Whelan officiating. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service today (Wednesday).
