Born July 31, 1873, John Louis Beiter was the oldest of John and Mary (nee Wolf) Beiter's 13 children. Although he was born in Buffalo and died in Buffalo, his residence for much of his life was in Rochester, Monroe Co., NY. He happened to be visiting his siblings in Buffalo when he died.

He and Josephine had 6 children: Margaret Mary, Herbert George, Norman Edward, John, Robert Lowell, and Florence Jeanette (Jean) Beiter.

He died October 10, 1961 and is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester with his wife, Josephine.
