Obituary
Mildred E. Ceglowski
Beloved mother and grandmother Mildred E. Ceglowski, 82, of Kelso passed away Dec. 4, 2012, at St. John Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Highland, Mo., to Alva and Agnes (Fryer) Judd and attended Kalama High School.
On July 27, 1947, Mildred married Patrick Ceglowski in Woodland and became the proud mother of two children, Linda and Darrel.
Mildred held a variety of positions in her 50 years of employment. She was a waitress, a landlord, and the owner of Ideal Market in Kelso. Moving to Long Beach, Mildred owned Mid Beach Cove Cottages and a Century 21 real estate office, where she was acting broker. She also enjoyed selling Avon.
Mildred was a member of the Eagles. She never met anyone she didn't consider a friend. Mildred was a giver, not a taker. She kept herself busy volunteering for community events and with social engagements. Mildred loved living on the Long Beach Peninsula, collecting glass balls, the community parades, jigsaw puzzles and bingo. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick; her daughter, Linda Jacobs; a brother, Larry Cunningham (Becky); a sister, Nancy Drum (Don); a sister-in-law, Helene Watson; a brother-in-law, Henry Ceglowski (Darlene); three grandsons, Brady "L.B." Jacobs (Savanna), Jestin Jacobs (Amie) and Darrick Jacobs (Lacey); two granddaughters, Emily Friddle (Chad) and Kim Dunham (Nate); 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Ceglowski, on Sept. 13, 2000; four sisters, Hazel Cunningham, Evangeline Webster, Fern Sparks and Jackie Courtney; a brother, James Cunningham; and a son-in-law, Brady Jacobs.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Longview Memorial Park.
