Annie Louise Leonard Bennett age 89 of Shallotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully July 15, 2013 at her home.

She was born in Brunswick County on October 21, 1923, the daughter of the late Robert Henry Leonard and Priscilla Watts Leonard.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty three years, Mansel Glenn Bennett; a brother Robert Henry Leonard Jr.; three sisters Eula L. Hewett, Mary L. Powell, and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hewett.

She is survived by their five children, Tammie B. Lewis and husband, Alan; Sabrina B. Babson and husband, Randy; James Richard Bennett; Mary Annette Bennett and Mansel Glenn Bennett II and wife, Susan; their eleven grandchildren, David B. Babson, Christopher A. Lewis, Robert D. Babson, Hope M. Bennett, Jessica Lewis Lancaster, Brianna E. Bennett, Emily G. Bennett, Tessa G. Bennett, William B. Babson, Hunter B. Smith and Arlynn Smith; and by three sisters, Alberta "Doot" Dixon, Jackie L. Hardee, and Loretta L. Wells.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00AM at Gurganus Cemetery.
