June was born June 10, 1925, in Oilton, Oklahoma, but spent most of her life in Springdale.
June was a Christian, a member of the Assembly of God church in Springdale. She was a gospel minister, a song writer, an avid inspirational singer, a youth leader, and a Sunday School teacher. She was known for making quilts and her homemade candies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry "Willie" Bass and Amy Mose Bass; four brothers, Charley, Ivan, Lawrence, and Orville; six sisters, Buena, Carol, Essie, Eula, Mable, and Veda.; two grandchildren, and her husband of 54 years, Leo Lester Savage.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Savage of Springdale, Jerry Savage (Carla) of Kansas, Oklahoma, Chuck Savage of Tontitown; and four daughters, Nellie Parker (Rephael) of Walnut Grove, Missouri, Leola Cross of Springdale, Judie Cate (Roy) of Fayetteville, and Sue Barnhart of Springdale; a brother, Harold Hendrickson of Rogers, 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great- grandchildren, and lots of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1 pm, Friday, July 19, 2013, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with Butch Bolinger officiating.
Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery.
Pall Bearers will be her grandsons: Darren and Larry Cross, Jared and Troy Curby, Brandon Mounce, Lee Parker, Charles "Bub" and Chris Savage, and Brandon Smith.
