She was born in Andrews, NC to the late Harvey and Mary Lona Wiggins. Frances and her late husband Mervin recorded and sang several songs of which he was the artist. Together they participated in church bands where she played the bass fiddle. The Lord blessed them with the opportunity to sing in many denominational churches in Gaston County and adjacent counties during their music ministry. Frances was a member of the Church of God for 75 years and served the Lord faithfully all those years.
Frances is survived by one son, Nick Huffman and his wife, Paula of Gastonia, NC; son-in-law, Truett Wray, who lovingly took care of her for 14 ½ years for which Frances was always grateful; four grandchildren, DeDe Johnson and husband, Davie, GeGe Penley and husband, Eddie, Mark Huffman and wife, Stephanie, Matthew Huffman and wife, Kelly; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brother, Carson Wiggins.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Franklin Huffman; daughter, Carolyn Wray; sister, Helen McElreath; brothers, Harvey Wiggins Jr. and Ralph Wiggins.
