CUTIE THE CALICO KITTY

REST IN PEACE CUTIE
Jan 02 2006 - May 28 2010

Cutie was struck and killed by a truck in front
of the Garden Shop. My sister and I just
recieved the news today (June 05 2010)
We are extremely heartbroken. There are
no words.

01/02/2006 - Beautiful long-haired calico cat found in Red Hook, N.Y. in the
back of Grandiflora nursery on the Greig Farm. She is living in the
barn and being fed every day. She doesn't seem to be a feral since
she does not try to run away. The barn is just a few feet from my house.

May 29, 2009 - Email from a friend who stopped by the garden shop to visit Cutie:
Hi Jane. I went to Grandiflora the other day. Carol was the only one there and some woman was in the back potting plants. Cutie greeted me at the door! She let me pet her and she purred and let me scratch the base of her tail and rub the side of her face. She's so tame now. I asked Carol if they need anyone to adopt her and she said everyone there wants her, but that Jacqui would be the first. Cutie just hangs out in the shop and around the place and follows everyone around. She's so beautiful and sweet!

May 9, 2009 - Jacqui says that Cutie is allowing her to pet her and follows her everywhere around the garden shop. Says that Cutie is a great cat.

March 7, 2009 - Jacqui says Cutie has been and continues to be doing fine. She is being fed by Jacqui and the girls at the garden shop. There's a new tenant in the schoolhouse in back of the shop that I was renting and the woman checks on Cutie too.

Oct. 26, 2008 - Jacqui at the garden shop says Cutie is doing fine and she plans to catch her and take her home with her.

July 17, 2008 -Jane, I have left food for Cutie a few times in the garden shop. I will check near the end of the summer and see if Jackie still plans to try to trap and adopt Cutie. Unfortunately, as I mentioned before you left, trying to get her into a trap now that she was once trapped and now that you are gone, is probably going to be impossible. The big worry is the winter so we will hope for the best. Denise

June 5, 2008 - Hi Jane. I bring food there about once a week. Katie and Jackie are feeding her but sometimes they don't see her for several days. Good thing she is spayed and had shots. Jackie said that she might try to trap her at end of summer and bring her to her home. Hope she has better luck than I did. Do stay in touch and if I have any news I will be in touch. Good luck with everything out there. Denise

Cutie was a feral cat loved by Jane, and Cutie was cared for the best a feral can be cared for when they do not want to live indoors 24-7. I am so glad that Cutie had Jane to love
and care for her. Cutie is at the Bridge with Jesus, happy safe and loved.
