Aaron Leon Gummersall, 89, of Grace, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013.

Leon was born on July 14, 1924 in Ivins, Idaho the son of Henry Smith and Martha Forman Gummersall.

He attended 1-4 grades in Ivins and 5th grade in Grace and then graduated from Bancroft High School.

He served in WWII and following the war he also served in the occupational forces in Japan.

Leon served a mission in the southern States Mission.

He married Hilda Mae Pearson on June 19, 1959 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Leon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served in various positions such as Sunday School and Priesthood Teacher, Stake Missionary and Sunday school and young Men's President. He also served a mission with his wife in the Atlanta, Georgia Mission. They also served as officiators in the Logan Temple for 13 years.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hilda Gummersall; four sons: Elliott (Angie) Gummersall, of Woods Cross, UT, Clay (Julie) Gummersall, of Pocatello, Jeff (Whitney) Gummersall, of Liberty Lake, WA, and Will Gummersall, of West Jordan, UT; four daughters: Tamara (Steven) Nielsen, of Chubbuck, Amy (Dave) Richards, of Pocatello, Holly (Aaron) Casebolt, of Roy, UT, and April (Duaine) Trottier, of West Valley, UT; 41 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four on the way; and one sister, Faye Erickson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers; one sister; a son, Ruland Leon; and a grandson, Nicholas Aaron Gummersall.

Services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Stake Center and on Friday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services.

Burial will be in the Turner Cemetery.
