LeRoy E. Waters, 80, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, July 10th 2013. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16th at Carson Speaks Chapel; 1501 W Lexington Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17th at St. Mark's Catholic Church; Lee's Summit Rd. Independence. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery. LeRoy was born July 17th 1932 in Jefferson City, MO to Cortez and Nettie (Cuinnorff) Waters. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. "Doc" worked as a truck driver for the Teamseters' for 38 years, and was given many awards including One Million Miles of Safe Driving. After 33 intensive radiation treatments he was pronounced ‘Cancer Free' by doctors. He enjoyed racing cars with World of Outlaws, woodworking and fixing/ building computers. "Doc" will be remembered for his smile, his humor, and he was loved by all. He is survived by wife, Joan (Schultz) Waters, of the home; daughter, Betty Ann Waters; son, John Waters (Pam); son, Dale Waters (Leslie); son, Timothy Waters (Judy); step-children, Zelda Marie Connor; Rickey W. Garner; and Edwina Hobson (George); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by first wife, Elizabeth "Betty"; second wife, Mildred Joyce "Millie" (Rawson), and son, LeRoy "Bo" Waters.
