John was a farmer in Pulaski County Kentucky until near age 38 he moved to Straughn, Henry County, Indiana and while still farming, went to work for Chrysler Corporation in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana as a machinist, retiring in the early 1950's. On August 2nd, 1906 John married Reva Ann Alexander and they had 10 children, 5 girls and 5 boys in 23 years. He died on July 12, 1960 in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana at the age of 77.
