Thomas Adlum Whitacre died at his home west of Brighton Friday July 24 aged 69y 11m.
Born at Pennsdale, Lycoming Co, PA 29 Aug 1833. His parents went to Logan Co, OH in 1847, where they lived until the fall of 1852 when they came to Iowa and located on a farm near Brighton.
3 Feb 1859 he married Isabella, dau of the late Robert W Griffith, who with ther 6 children survives. Children: Samuel G; Robert J; Mary E; Benjamin F; Edith E and George C. Four brothers and 2 sisters also survive: D.E. Whitacre of Marshalltown; Joseph of Albia; Calvin of Bishop, CA; Benjamin of Brighton & Mrs Marcy & Mrs Vinton of Fairfield.
