Funeral services for George "Buster" Womack, 76 of Jonesville, LA will be held at Pisgah Baptist Church on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11 AM with Bro. Ken Hoots, Bro. Lloyd Trisler and Bro Juan McClure officiating.
Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Buster was born on September 27, 1936 in Natchez, Mississippi and passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his residence in Jonesville.
Buster graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1954 and was a graduate of LSU with a Bachelors degree in Agriculture.
He was the youngest Director of Catahoula Bank at the age of 27 and at his death was the CEO of the Catahoula Holding Company. He was a Founder and Past President of CC Planters Gin in Jonesville. He served on the Cathoula Parish Hospital Board and was an Oilman. He farmed for 54 years and was a member of Pisgaha Baptist Church. One of his greatest contributions to the Parish was his willingness to support young farmers and businessman to establish themselves. Buster was an avid hunter and fisherman in his youth and was a conservationist all his life.
He was a proud Husband, Father and Grandfather and supported his family in every way. He had many friends in the Catahoula and Concordia parish and was highly respected and admired in the area.
