Rock Hill, SC – Mr. Wade Vincent Butler, 79, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Reverends Donald Davis and Steven Davis, officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Park-Cherry Road.

Mr. Butler was a native of Cheraw, SC and the son of the late Curtis Fletcher and Edna Grant Butler. He was a 1956 graduate of Clemson University and received his Masters degree from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Butler taught two years at Rock Hill High School and served as principal of Richmond Drive and Rosewood Elementary Schools in Rock Hill for 30 years. After his retirement, he was a tax preparer for H&R Block for 21 years. Mr. Butler was a member of First Baptist Church for 56 years where he taught his Sunday school class for many years. He was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge #111, member of the Rock Hill Lions Club and the Rock Hill Retired Education Association. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Dimery Butler of the home; his children, Jenny Wiramihardja and her husband, Jimmy; Warren Butler and Sharon Jones and her husband, Jason; all of Rock Hill; his sister, Barbara B. Davis of Concord, NC and three grandchildren.
