She was born in St. Joseph hospital on April 12, 1943 and had lived in Ohio all her life. Sharon was a loving mother. She enjoyed gardening, was very active with PTO at Garfield Elementary for many years and she loved animals.
Survivors include: sons, William (Debbie) Hodge of Sheffield Township, Brian (Nina) Hodge and Michael Hodge, both of Lorain; brothers, Dale Vanek, Charles Vanek and Robert Vanek; sister, Katie Gillespie; and grandchildren, Allyssa, Jacob, Jeremy, Julian, McKenzie, Leylah and Aleyah.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Hodge; parents, Charles and Evelyn (nee Johnson) Vanek; and sisters, Marilyn Counts and Linda Christian.
Friends and family may attend celebration of life on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at Elks Lodge 1301, 203 W 6th St., Lorain, Ohio.
