Dr. Frank Norris Huggins, Ph.D., 86, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at a care facility in Denison. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday in Zephyr Cemetery in Zephyr, the Rev. Steve Baker officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. There will be no visitation services. Frank was born Oct. 25, 1926, to Oscar James Robert Huggins and Ida Oma Donowho Huggins in Zephyr. He married Caroline Bradshaw on Dec. 16, 1946, in Brownwood. Frank served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. He had been an ordained deacon since 1963. He was a professor of mathematics at University of Texas at Arlington. He was the published author of mathematical articles and a book. An avid reader, he had an extensive collection of books among other valued collections. He cherished his role as a loving husband, protector and caregiver to his beloved wife, Caroline. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ida Oma Huggins; and siblings, Oscar James Flurnoy, Gwendola Pearl and Rector Howard. Survivors: His wife, Caroline Bradshaw Huggins of Arlington; his extended family: sister-in-law, Dorothy Bradshaw of Edmond, Okla.; and sister-in-law, Mary Loyce Bradshaw McWilliams and her husband, Willis, of Kingston, Okla.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
