Dennis Frank Geiger, age 69, of Wausau, passed away surrounded by his family on July 9, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Wausau on September 17, 1943 to the late Joseph A. and Catherine (Pupp) Geiger. He attended Holy Name School and graduated from Wausau High School in 1962. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force and was stationed in West Germany where he met Stefanie Henrich. In January 1966, he married Stefanie in Enkenbach, Germany.

In 1973, they returned to Wausau where he began working for the City of Wausau for 39 years, retiring in 2007 as Assistant Superintendent of the Wausau Water Utility. Dennis and Stefanie enjoyed going to the Wausau-Merrill German Club. His hobbies included gardening, landscaping, woodworking, camping and other outdoor activities. He enjoyed spending time at the farm, fixing and building anything. His greatest joys were encouraging his children and grandchildren, laughing, and loving his family and friends. We will all miss him.

In addition to his wife, Stefanie, survivors include his children, Pam (Tod) Tesch, Dennis (Jane) Geiger, Susi Geiger (Kevin Powley) and Steve Geiger (Patti LaFevre); his 6 grandchildren; Sam, Emily, Max, Sofie, Andy and Ellie as well as his siblings Joan (Don) Schmidt, Gerald (Janice) Geiger, Dan Kleman, Marlene Behnke, Bonnie (Gilbert) Slivicke, Susie (Danny) Fluegge and Beth (Kent) Fluegge; his German relatives; Georg Henrich, Elisabeth (Willi) Stumpf, Irma (Leonhard) Weissmann, Adelwine Henrich, Helma Doll, plus many friends and relatives all around the world.
