Mrs. Marion Catherine Wells, age 71, of Bonifay, Florida passed away July 10, 2013 at her home. She was born February 20, 1942 in Pensacola, Florida to the late Curtis & Virginia Brock Jernigan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wells was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Wells and a brother, John Brock Jernigan.
Mrs. Wells was a graduate of PHS, PJC and Troy University achieving her BS degree. She was a long time member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Wells worked for 15 plus years teaching with the Holmes County Head Start Program.
Mrs. Wells is survived by her husband, Carlton Archie Wells of Bonifay, FL; a daughter, Becky Dunigan and husband Bill of Lynn Haven, FL; a son, Daniel Wells and wife Tara of Bonifay, FL; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Braswell and husband Gary of Bonifay, FL; six grandchildren, Elec Wells, Chelsea Wells, Jennifer Parrott, Katelyn Parrott, Morgann Wells, Makayla Wells; one great-grandson, Sean Bradshaw; a sister, Virginia Smith and husband Doug of Wake Forest, NC; a step-brother, Bobby Jernigan of Milton, FL; and a host of relative and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2013 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Bobby Willis and Elder J.C. Stanaland officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing. Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday at Peel Funeral Home.
