Along with her husband, Mrs. Crippen was former co-owner of Hoosier Sporting Goods and a former elementary school teacher in Columbus and Speedway. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Delta Zeta Sorority.
Born in Martinsville, July 19, 1940, Mrs. Crippen was the daughter of Charles and Mary Melton Abbott. She married Herschel L. Crippen on August 22, 1965.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Tim B. (Laura Jordan) Crippen of Portland, OR; a brother, James R. (Roseanne) Abbott of Columbus; granddaughter, Louisa Crippen of Portland; and a cousin, Mary June (Gene) Gurthet of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
