She was a past member of the Redman Lodge. She liked to read, feed the stray cats, birds, and squirrels, and loved to care for her flowers.

Janet is survived by her son, Larry (Nancy) Hoover of Anderson, daughter, Susie (Robert) Turner of Lapel, sister, Iris Whiteaker of Anderson, sister, Donna Moore of Anderson, sister, Doris (Paul) Brinkley of Arkansas, sister, Sandy Stepp of Georgia; grandchildren, Matthew (Joanna) Hoover of Noblesville, Joshua (Rhiannon) Hoover of Noblesville, Rob (Angie) Turner of Anderson, David and George Brooks of Florida; great-grandchildren, Kendall and Madelyn Hoover of Noblesville, Elaina Hoover of Noblesville, and Annabell Turner of Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hoover, mother, Florence Marie Jones, father, George Herman Jones, daughter, Pamela Brooks, sister, Zoah Moore, brother, Russell Jones, brother, Eugene Jones, niece, Paula Bartee, and her nephew, Tony Moore.
