Robert Richard Gahagan, 63, of 42 Albermarle Road, Asheville, NC, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 25, 1975 at his home. A native of Mars Hill, he was the son of Hezekiah and Mattie Cole Gahagan. He had lived most of his life in Asheville and was connected with several automobile tire concerns, his latest employment being with Hughes Tire Distributors. Surving are a son, Richard Sydney Gahagan of Santa Marie, Cali; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Blankenship of Warren, Mich., Mrs. Shirley Morris of Okinawa and Mrs. Gwenette Harvey of Asheville; a brother, Earl Gahagan of Johnson City, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Morris Funeral Home. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Robert married Bonnie Parham; born 31 July 1918 in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina; died 10 December 1999 in Santa Maria, California. Bonnie was the daughter of Henry Bradley Parham (1880 – 1930) and Carrie Lee Rhymer (1889 – 1958).
