Richard J. Templeton passed away peacefully on the morning of July 20, 2011.
He was born on June 27, 1922, in Cascade, Idaho, to Donald and Mary Templeton.
Shortly after he was born, the family moved to Colorado where he was raised. Dick retired from the United States Army after 20 years of distinguished service which included World War II and Korea. After his retirement from the military, he settled in Montana where he worked 20 years in Civil Service.
Dick is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary J. and Antonio Mercado; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; his parents; sisters, Etta and Louise; and brother, Ed.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the National Wildlife Federation www.nwf.org or Disabled American Veterans www.dav.org.
