BLOUNT — Mr. Lonnie W. Blount, 82, of 2697 Dellwood Ave., died Wednesday in a local hospital after a sudden illness. Mr. Blount was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church, where he was very active in the Glad Hand Bible Class. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Wilkes Blount, Jacksonville; one son, William H. Blount, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Rhoden, Jacksonville, and Mrs. Jackie Nicoli, of Jacksonville; one brother, Robert Blount, Jacksonville; and two sisters, Mrs. Leona Reeves, and Mrs. Myrtice Dees, of Jacksonville; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Giddens-Griffith Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., the Rev. James Hambrick, minister of the Woodlawn Baptist Church, officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
