Margaret Sierer Schlenker, 95, passed into the kingdom of heaven on May 15, 2013 in Sacramento, California.

Margaret was born the daughter of John Calvin and Sarah Ann Sierer on July 25, 1917 in Emporia, Kansas.

Surviving are two daughters, Carlene Walker of Altoona, Pennsylvania and Linda Brown and husband Paul Brown of Oregon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; five sisters; four brothers; a son-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret married Basil Schlenker, who was also from Emporia, Kansas. They married on November 6, 1944 in California. Basil passed on in April of 1985.

She was a member of the Retail Clerks Union and worked at Crawford's Markets for 23 years. She was an avid fisherwoman, enjoyed quilting, gardening and baking.

At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral. A private interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Emporia's local animal shelter.
