Richard Larry Eckert, 72, of Lansdale, passed away July 2, 2013 at Abington Health- Lansdale Hospital.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Faye L. (Ulrich) Eckert. The two would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this coming August.
Born October 14, 1940 in West Reading, Richard was a son of the late Ira and Mary (Rhoads) Eckert.
Mr. Eckert and his family owned and operated Eckert's Produce, Inc. for many years. Above all else, Richard cherished being a husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, including his four-legged companions, especially his dog, Jake.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Terry L. Troy (Michael W.) of Lansdale; Lonny L. Eckert of East Norriton; Ronald L. Eckert (Marisa M.) of Boerne, TX; and Laurie L. Burbank (Sherman H.) of Montgomeryville; three grandchildren: Bryan J. DeAngelis (Dana M.), Nicole S. Troy, and Matthew C. Eckert; and eight siblings: Harold, Allan, Carol, Neal, Dennis, Karen, Barry, and Dean.
Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald L. Eckert, who died serving his country in the Vietnam War.
