Gene Melvin Schwindt, age 75, of Plainview died Friday, November 4, 2005 at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville. He was born September 8, 1930, in Leoti, Kansas to Nick and Mollie Lorene Schwindt.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Adie Schwindt, and two brothers, Leroy and Lawrence "Buddy" Schwindt.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Ramona Schwindt of Liberal, KS, Kim and Iris Schwindt of Ulysses, KS daughters and sons-in-laws, Candace and Willis Moten of Lawrence, KS, Darcy and Brent Braodfoot of Wooland Park, CO, Kari and Mike Harrison of Silver City, New Mexico; companion of 34 years, Vada Norton of Plainview; stepchildren and spouses, Steve and Denise Willamson of Russellville, Dara and Rick Smith of Marshall, TX ;12 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren 16 step great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Funeral service was held on Monday, November 07, 2005 at the Plainview First Methodist Church with Rev. Billie Jean Tate and Rev. Monroe Hunt officiating. Internment was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Leoti, KS. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville, AR.
