Delma Jo Sanders Boyd, age 78 of Joplin, passed away at 6:46 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Freeman West Hospital after a long illness.
Born December 27, 1934 in Gravette, AR, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Sanders and Rosa Lee Gann Sanders and had lived in Joplin since 1954.
A bookkeeper, she also attended Fairview Baptist Church, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Blendville Christian Church and T.O.P.S.
She was a volunteer at the former Oak Hill Hospital.
On October 1, 1954 she married Donald R. Boyd in Duquesne. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2007.
Two daughters also preceded her in death, Macalene (Macki) Apple on Dec. 17, 2013 and Frankie Rae Boyd on May 8, 1972, as well as two sisters and a brother.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Lynn Boyd of Webb City; a granddaughter, Morgan Apple Ramsey; a great-granddaughter, Kendall Ramsey; two nieces, Sherry Peterson and husband Paul of Joplin, Ressa Smith; two nephews, Gant and Colby Sanders.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Bob Simon officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
