SALISBURY, Pa. — Phyllis Swauger, 99, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.

Born Dec. 20, 1915, in Boynton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lester and Gertrude (Hersh) Engle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Swauger.

Mrs. Swauger was a member of Salisbury Church of the Brethren and retired after 36 years service as a seamstress for Meyersdale Manufacturing, Meyersdale, Pa.

She is survived by a son, D. Lynn Swauger , Salisbury; a daughter, Beulah Mae Folk and husband, Mark, Springs; five grandchildren, Beverly Critchfield, Melinda Gibson, Kendra Geiger, Melissa Ann Swauger and Eric Swauger and six great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury, on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Whitacre officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Wilhelm Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Garrett County.
