Early Life: Ruth was born July 9, 1920, in Payson, Utah, to Joseph Arthur and Ella Empey Hancock Daley, the eighth of their ten girls and one baby boy, the caboose.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: She loved to dance, and met William John Gatley, of Eureka, Utah, at the Arrowhead dance. They later married on December 13, 1938, in Nephi, Utah, and moved to Eureka; she loved the town and its great people. They welcomed three children into their home: Ethel Mae, Ella Jayne and William John, III. She was widowed on January 17, 1951, and the family was blessed with a baby boy, Jack Daley Gatley, July of 1951.
❦ She moved to Payson in 1952 to care for her aging father. She married Heber Clay Bagley in August of 1952. They had one son, Heber Brent Bagley in 1953. They were married for 50 years before he died while living their lives of service and giving.
❦ Ruth wore her body out with hard work, that big heart refused to give up. She was an amazing cook, winning many contests and awards. She was a lunch lady for many years and salad maker and baker at the Oak Crest Inn.
❦ Her favorite job for many years was feeding the missionaries at the Missionary Training Center. She loves God and being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings, served them well, and loved the people she taught and worked with.
❦ Ruth loved cooking, canning, bird watching, Lawrence Welk Show, Diet Coke and sweets. She especially loved her home and family, giving unconditional love and support. Suffering many trials and tribulations, she kept her spirit and sense of humor. Sweet loving mother, sister, grandma, great & great-great-grandma, aunt and precious friend, Ruth Mary Daley Gatley Bagley, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2013, in the comfort of her home. She was 92.
Survived By: Her daughter, Jayne (Tom) Paris; son, Billy Gatley, Levan; Debbie Gatley Lux, Spanish Fork; brother, Donald (Norelle) Daley;17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased By: Her husbands, children: Jack Daley Gatley; Ethel Mae Hudson; Heber Brent Bagley; her parents; her sisters: Rhea Davis, Ella V. Hutchinson, Fern Colvin, Florence Bryson, Blanche Whitelock, Dorothy Nielsen, Baby Elaina, Aurthella Nickle, Baby Mormona.
