Edna Mae (Lowery) Foster, 90, of Big Hill Avenue, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in her home following a short illness.She was born in Valley View in Madison County, July 8, 1919, to the late Jeff and Rosa (Renfro) Lowery, and was the widow of James Luke Foster.Mrs. Foster was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She had been very active up until her final illness. She loved collecting cookie jars and had accumulated about 200 of varying styles. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and tending to her many house plants.She is survived by: five daughters, Betty Ridnour and Rose Lee Mullins (Herbert), both of Westland, Mich., and Josephine Snowden, Carolyn Ward and Bonnie Daniels, all of Richmond; one son, Billy Foster (Carol) of Westland, Mich.; one sister, Mary Ann Story of Lexington; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Madison Memorial Gardens, and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oldham, Roberts and Powell.
