JOSEPH BEDORTHA
Born 1649 Jan 15 Springfield, MA
Death. The exact date of death of Joseph is not known. In 1707 when the land won the West side of the Connecticut River, the Commons as it was called , was divided into ten acre lots and assigned to the 73 males over 21yrs of age, Joseph Bodurtha, Sr received his portion: but in 1723 when a second division was made the heirs of Joseph are mentioned.

The title of Lieutenant given to Joseph in Dr. Lathrop's parish records, indicates that he must have been actively engaged in the earlier wars of the Colony.
