Bernice M. Holman, 86, Shell Lake, died on Thursday, 28 Oct 1993 at Terraceview Living Center, Shell Lake.
The former Bernice Bakker was born in the township of Dewey, Bashaw community on 24 May 1907, daughter of John and Sylvia (Olson) Bakker. She was a 1925 graduate of Spooner High School and received her teaching degree at a teacher's normal school. She taught in North Dewey and South Dewey, one room country schools.
On 12 June 1936, she was united in marriage to George Holman in Shell Lake. Following their marriage they resided in the township of Barronett where they farmed until retiring and moving to Shell Lake in 1982.
She was preceded in death by her husband on 5 May 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Della Stariha, Shell Lake and Sharon (Larry) Avery, Trego; three sons, John (Sharon) Holman, Hankinson, ND, Dale (Jackie) Holman, Superior, and Warren (Barb) Holman, township of Barronett; nine grandchildren; three gr-grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 30 October at Park Alliance Church, Shell Lake, with Rev. Kirk Petterson officiating.
Burial was in Clam River Cemetery. Visitation was on Friday at Pocket Funeral Home in Shell Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Pocket Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
