When Ann Caroline Taylor was born on December 8, 1842, in Pennsylvania, her father, John Taylor (1802-1890), was 40 and her mother, Catherine Phillips Taylor (1817-1894), was 25. In 1860, Ann C. Taylor was 17 years old and lived in Marion County, Iowa. She married Henry Gordon Reynolds, a Civil War soldier, there on February 28, 1862.

They had six children: Anna Viola Reynolds Walker (1864–1960); Isaac P Reynolds (1866–1962); Ora Ellen Reynolds Ross Craun (1869–1944); Myrtle M Reynolds Henshaw (1871– ); Henry Earl Reynolds (1874–1936); and Catherine N "Cassie" Reynolds Crevier (1876–1949).

In 1880, she lived in Iowa with her husband, 2 sons, and 4 daughters. By March 1, 1885, they had moved to Jewell County, Kansas. In 1900, she lived in Lincoln County, Kansas with her husband, Henry, and son Earl. In 1905 they lived in White Rock, Kansas, then in Vermillion, Kansas by 1910. She died in 1913 at the age of 70.
