Shot down on night mission with the RAF by a German Bf 110G-4 fighter and crashed at
Groß-Karben, about 16 kilometers northeast of Frankfurt, Germany.

Five crewmembers were killed and five survived and were taken prisoners. Missing Air Crew Report № 785.
