Mr. Abbas moved to Wright County, Iowa with his parents as a young boy and from 1914 to 1960 had been a resident of Kanawha. He received his education in the rural schools of Wright County and served with the army in World War I from 1918 to 1919. He was a member of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church, a member of the American Legion and was in the produce business and rucking business before retirement.
He was survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
