Hemmo E. Abbas son of Edward and Jennie Abbas, passed away early Saturday morning, May 20, 1972 at the Veterans Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa following a lingering illness. Mr. Abbas was born June 20th, 1890, in Douglas County, South Dakota and was 81 years and 11 months of age at the time of his death. He had been a resident of the Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa for the last 12 years.

Mr. Abbas moved to Wright County, Iowa with his parents as a young boy and from 1914 to 1960 had been a resident of Kanawha. He received his education in the rural schools of Wright County and served with the army in World War I from 1918 to 1919. He was a member of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church, a member of the American Legion and was in the produce business and rucking business before retirement.

He was survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
