Gwendolyn was the daughter of Samuel Bailey and Harriet "Hattie" A. N. (Elwell) Robinson. Her father was born in Philadelphia, Pa. Her mother was born in Salem, N.J. Gwendolyn was born at 507 East Tenth St. Raymond Clarence Abbott and Gwendolyn Robinson were married August 18, 1918 in Dover, Del. They later divorced.

Mrs. Gwendolyn L. Abbott, 57, of 1936 Seneca Road, Canby Park, died yesterday morning at the Governor Bacon Health Center. She had been ill for two months.

Born in Wilmington, Mrs. Abbott had lived here all her life, and before her illness, worked at the Harper-Thiel plant.

Surviving her are two sons, Eugene and Donald Abbott, both of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Swan of Plymouth, Mich,; a brother, Harold Robinson of Wilmington, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Spicer Funeral Home, Twenty-fourth and Market Streets on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening.
