Visitation is Wednesday, July 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a wake from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. B. J. Hunter will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Memorial Cemetery, Hitchcock.
He is survived by wife, Verner Bowers, Hitchcock; children, William Bowers Jr., Baltimore, Maryland, Leonard Bowers and wife, Lillian of La Marque; Lewis Bowers, Hitchcock, Alvern Bowers and Fred Bowers, both of Houston; sisters, Rosie Bowers of Houston and Luvenia Gaines and husband Vastenus of Houston; brother, James Bowers and wife Bertha of Prairie View, Texas; sister-in-law, Dorothy Davis and husband Robert, Houston; grandchildren, Milton, Joel, Patrick, Leonard Jr., Dexter, Melanie and Nakia (all Bowers); and seven great grandchildren.
