Albert John Granat, 91, of Allegan, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Allegan General Hospital. He was born on May 25, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Axel and Elizabeth (Stringer) Granat. Albert was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. He worked and retired from Perrigo after 20 years of employment. Albert is survived by his beloved wife Mary who he married on October 17, 1959; his children: Denise "Dede" (Ray) Lewis, Christine "Cookie" (Wally) Pabis, Scott (Lisa) Granat; his grandchildren: Carrie (Matt), Steve, Wally, Joey, Alex, Hannah; one great-grandchild on the way; and not to forget the dog "Betsy". Friends may join the family for a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Allegan. Father Thomas Toeller-Novak will be officiating. An inurnment will take place the same day at 2:00 P.M. at Lindsley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010. Arrangements are being made by Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.
