Alois J. Eckes, 52, of Hayton, died at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium Wednesday after a long illness.

Born in Hayton on Nov. 24, 1910, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eckes. He worked for a time at the Aluminum Specialty Co in Chilton

Mr. Eckes was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Martin’s Church in Charlestown.

Surviving are his father and a sister, Mrs. Ervin Boll of Hayton.

Funeral services were held Friday at St. Martin’s Church in Charlestown, the Rev. Arnulf Buck, SDS officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
