RED BAY, Ala. – David Timothy Thrasher, 48, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, in Red Bay. He was born July 30, 1964, in Russellville, Ala. He was a production worker at Gates Rubber Co. for 29 years. A member of Free Will Baptist Church, he loved his church family and horses.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at Free Will Baptist Church in Red Bay with Bro. Steve Lindsay officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Red Bay. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Thrasher of Red Bay; his parents, Omer and Jackie Thrasher of Red Bay; a sister, Deborah Miller of Haleyville, Ala.; brother, Jason Thrasher of Huntsville, Ala.; nephews, Chase Miller of Haleyville, Randy Ivy (Marianna) of Red Bay, and Daryl and Jeremy Ivy of Cherokee, Ala.; nieces, Katti Miller of Haleyville, and Jennifer and Kristin Ivy of Sheffield, Ala.; godchildren, Hannah and Morgan McKinney; and brothers-in-law, Hugh Ivy (Andora) of Red Bay and Jimmy Ivy (Lori) of Sheffield.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chester and Maxine Ivy; and his grandparents, Owen and Levada Mason, and Cim and Leora Thrasher.

Pallbearers will be Reggie Holland, Radley Holland, Tim McKinney, Scotty Hardin, Mack Bullard and Eric Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Trulove, Benny Johnston, Steve Brown, Tim Hopkins, Luke Roberts, Billy Weatherbee, Wade Hutcheson, Jeff Clark, Steven Ables and Zane Pounds.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay. He will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Free Will Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Free Will Baptist Church, 1303 Highway 24 East, Red Bay, AL 35582.
