From the Utica (NY) Daily Press dated 3/5/1926: "Mrs. Adelaide J. Rougeot - Rome, March 4 -- Mrs. Adelaide J. Rougeot, widow of Francis P. Rougeot died Thursday at her home, 619 Floyd Avenue. She had been ill since last Friday. Her maiden name was Denison, a descendent of the Brewsters and A??? who came over on the Mayflower. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Denison and was born in Floyd in 1844, and was married in 1866, and lived on the old Rougeot homestead until 1880, when they came to Rome, and Mr. Rougeot died here in 1897. She was a home loving woman, devoted to her family and a woman who was charitably inclined and loved by all who knew her. She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church. These children survive: Miss Minnie Rougeot and Harry A., at home; Mrs. Fred VanDewalker of this city and Charles B. of the state of Washington, and one granddaughter, Miss Pauline Rougeot of Dolgeville."
