Milton Andrews married Ella Owen in Jasper, Alabama, on Oct 17, 1897, at the home of her aunt and uncle, Sarah Owen and Wm S Foster. A newspaper article in The Mountain Eagle of Jasper proves. Ella was the daughter of T.R. Owen (Find A Grave Memorial #10738591) who was a brother of Sarah Owen Foster. Ella and Milton lived in Brownwood, Texas, in 1909, and in Houston in 1911; then Ella disappears from the records and Milton marries Maude in 1913. A record of Ella's death or burial has not yet been found.

The Mountain Eagle (Jasper, Walker County, Alabama) Wednesday, October 20, 1897:

"Happy Marriage. Mr. Milton Andrews and Miss Ella Owen treated the town to a surprise by being united in marriage Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock.

It took place at the residence in this city of the bride's uncle, Capt. W.S. Foster, who was himself surprised by the announcement just a few minutes before the ceremony took place. The young couple planned a surprise and carried it out admirably, only the Probate Clerk and two or three friends being taken into their confidence. They went out for a drive and returned about half past four and the ceremony took place at 5 o'clock. A friend hastily summoned Rev. J.I. Williams, who is always ready and waiting to do good, and he was soon there and impressively performed the ceremony that linked their young lives together until the holy bonds are severed by death.

The handsome young couple is very popular with both old and young who know them. The groom is a very promising young businessman, possessing in a high degree the confidence and esteem of all. The bride was here on a visit to her aunt, Mrs. W.S. Foster, and is a very clever, attractive little woman. All join in happy congratulations and well wishes."

Note: Ella Owen was the daughter of Ida Rives and Thomas R "T.R." Owen (1839-1930). T.R. Owen was born in Tuscaloosa, and was a confederate veteran who lived most of his post-war life in Texas, where Ella was born. Sarah Owen Foster (1834-1908), wife of Wm S Foster, was the sister of T.R. Owen, both being the children of Ella's grandparents, Dolly Payne Williams and Thomas Owen of Tuscaloosa. Milton Andrews (1875-1956) was the son of Eliza C Stevenson (1838-1913) and Rev Wm T Andrews (1838-1921). Ella died in abt 1912, and in 1913, Milton took a second wife, Mrs Maude (Roffe) Felton. Milton worked for the railroad in Alabama and and he and Maude retired in San Diego, California, where they died in 1956 and 1977, respectively.
