Beatrice O. Jones, age 92, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29,2009 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle, after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 24,1917 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Martin and Cora (Burley) Wehrly.
She lived most of her life in New Castle. She retired as a secretary from the Veteran's Affairs Office located in the basement of the New Castle Post Office, at that time. She attended the 1st Christian Church of New Castle with her mother Cora Wehrly. She enjoyed spending with her family and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Beatrice is survived by: 1 son, Ray Rees of New Castle; 1 daughter-in-law, Betty Rees of New Castle; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; also several cousins.
Preceded in death by both parents and 1 son, Byron Rees.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 4,2010 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Macer-Hall Funeral Home. Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4,2010 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Jaco officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
