Chet grew up in the Olney Springs, Colorado and received his formal education attending school there. He was employed with Continental Plastics. He was united in marriage with Lorraine Ortega and two daughters, Velma and Litha, were born to this union. This marriage later ended in divorce.
Chet returned to the Riverton, Nebraska area to live and in 1983, he was married to Diana Gentert at Hastings, Nebraska. They were blessed with daughter, Lucinda and Chet welcomed to his family Diana's children Amber and Mark. He was worked with the Dutton-Lainson Company for a time and then was employed for 37 years with Western Plastics. He concluded her work career with Eagles Plastics, Hastings, Nebraska.
Chet was happiest when he was busy helping his friends, family and neighbors. He was blessed with an ability to build, repair and create an abundance of projects with his hands and tools. Chet will be remembered for his outgoing personality and his driving desire to help others.
Preceding him in death were: parents; daughter, Velma Walker and brothers, Donald Lee "Donnie" and Rex Earl Walker.
Left to treasure his memory are: loving wife, Diana Walker of Hastings, Nebraska; children, Litha Spies and husband David of Aurora, Colorado; Lucinda Minteh, Amber Soucek, and Mark Lane and wife Allison all of Hastings, Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Barb Anderson and husband Jimmy of Juianta, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends.
Interment was in the Riverton Cemetery, Riverton, Nebraska.
