William Lindsay, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Lauramie township, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Yesterday at his home in Stockwell. He had been sick for eight weeks, suffering from a complication of diseases. He was born in Pennsylvania seventy-six years ago and lived there until he was ten years old, when he moved to Ohio. He lived there for five years and then came to Indiana, locating in Lauramie township, where he turned his attention to farming. He followed that occupation until twelve years ago, when he retired from active work and moved to Stockwell. He had been a resident of the township for sixty years at the time he was called away. He was married in 1850 to Mrs. Sarah Green Ham, who survives.
