This was written by Dollie and Edgar's son, Clarence in 1997.

My mother Dolly Price Lewis came from a large family and married our father when she was quite young. Her family lived near enough that we also grew up with our cousins. Grandpa [Fredrick] Price was from Germany and came to the United States quite young. After becoming a father to six children he left his possessions with widow and children and struck out to have a new life in southern Oklahoma. Grandma [Mary Alice Holcomb] stayed with the farm at Mullinville and five of her family grew to adulthood. Both Grandpa and Grandma Price were ambitious and acquired considerable property during their lifetime. Grandmother was beautiful and shared herself with several husbands, but none other than Grandpa Price were good for her. She died a widow. Grandma Price was a queen and we children loved her.

The Price family liked the Lewis’s, provided for their family, and lived with good reputations, farmers, teachers, business employees.

Nearly all of these families were members of Christian churches, with some members committed to helping extend the gospel of Jesus Christ. Mother [Dollie] was the lighthouse in our family and those of us who spend eternity in heaven will praise her forever. She taught us to pray beside the bed as children and was a lovely Christian. Dad {Edgar Lewis] set a good example in the community for our family. Mother loved to sing in the church choir and some of our friends remind me of her singing. Mother died in her 40s. Dad remarried and she [Bernice Taylor] out lived him. Dad was 76 when he died.
