Clara (Schmuck) Barber was the youngest of five children of Joseph Schmuck (1855-1930) and his wife Anna (Peirce) Schmuck (1857-1938). The family moved from Carey, Ohio to Buffalo, Erie County, New York after Clara was born. Clara married Chester Willis Barber (1879-1930) in 1907 in New York State. Clara and her daughter Helen later relocated to Washington State. Their daughter Helen Barber (1909-1987) is buried in the same cemetery as Clara.
