Anita K Bailey, 46 of Waverly, formerly of Lucasville, passed from this life on Saturday June 22, 2013 at her home after a long battle with cancer.

She was born February 18, 1967 in Portsmouth the daughter of Boyd and Tena Conley of Lucasville and Bonnie Rowland of Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, David and Dollie (Southworth) Noel, Autie and Nancy "Dottie" (Ison) Conley and an uncle, James Keith Conley.

Anita had in recent years returned to Ohio after living in Florida and South Carolina. She was an office manager for Twin Mill Pike LLC before becoming ill.

Along with her parents, Anita is survived by daughters, Heather McLaughlin and Sara Bailey of Chillicothe; step grandson who she cared for since birth, Bryce Bailey, fiancé John Harbert of Waverly; a sister, Patricia Slone; niece, Jessica Slone; and great niece, Peyton Slone all of Waverly; aunts, Donna (Bruce) Warren of Greenville, Juanita Conley of Lucasville; uncles, Leon (Cheryl) Noel, Randall (Barbara) Conley all of Lucasville; special cousins, Donnie (Leslie) Lundy of Beaver, Scott (Heather) Noel Richmond, KY., Cindy Lundy and Tara (Brian) Harrington, all of Waverly, Kim (Ken) Fowler of Groveport, in addition to many more cousins.

Anita will leave a large emptiness in the lives of all who knew her and loved her. Her strength, willpower and positive attitude will be a lasting testimony to us all.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Ed Cox officiating. Burial will be the following day in Scioto Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday starting at 5:00 PM. The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Hofmiester, nurses and staff at Columbus Oncology & Hematology for their months of excellent care, Riverside Methodist Hospital and Hospice of National Church Residences (Incare). A special thank you to Dave and Liz Seif, Kelly Seif, Sandra Lawhorn, Roxanne LeMaster (Her full time heath aid) for all her extra time and care, cousin Pam Crabtree (for using her nursing skills once more) and all who supported us in many different ways during this long journey.
