Survived by his wife of 24 years, Sharon Hawkins; sons: Michael D. Hawkins, Mark W. Hawkins, and Michael E. Miller; a daughter, Gina Barnhart; and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on April 23, 2012 at the Parr Funeral Home, Suffolk, VA, with Dr. Kevin Eley officiating. Burial followed at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
