Robert Harmon McLloyd Killpack, D.D.S.,beloved husband, father, and grandfather, age 84, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on June 20, 2013 after a valiant effort to recover from heart surgery. Born March 28, 1929 in Murray, Utah to McLloyd Killpack and Leah Elizabeth Harmon. He married Dorothy Mae Gregory on December 29, 1952 in the Salt Lake temple. Their marriage was a 60 year love affair.

Robert graduated from Murray High, the University of Utah, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He was a dentist in the Air Force for 2 years and then had his own practice in Murray for over 40 years. He was a member of The American College of Dentistry, received the Distinguished Service Award from The Utah Dental Association and was elected as a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry.

He was a member of the Utah House of Representatives (1993-1999). As a part of the Legislature, he was a champion for the unborn and was instrumental in the passing of Utah's anti-abortion law and adoption statutes. He also served on the Civil Service Commission Board in Murray, Utah. As a young man, Robert served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Berlin, Germany where he gained a great love for the German people. He was able to return with his wife to serve as mission president in the Germany, Düsseldorf mission. (1978-1981) He loved the many missionaries who served with him, and they loved him, in return. He had the privilege of serving in many leadership positions in the Church including bishop, stake president, mission president, temple sealer and stake patriarch. He was a true disciple of Christ, a stalwart, never waivering, never faltering. He found great joy in spending time with his family, especially at the Bear Lake cabin, patiently teaching many to water ski. He also enjoyed making and flying model airplanes. He was a beloved father and patriarch to his family, and we are thankful to know that we will be together forever.

Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy, their four children Gregory, David (Heidi), Julia Garlick (Steve), Jennifer Jones (Kevin), 13 grandchildren, 2 grand daughters-in-law, 2 grand sons-in-law, 2 great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, Milton J. Hess and Herold L. Gregory and numerous nieces and nephews whom he greatly loved. Preceded in death by parents, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, and daughter-in-law, Missey, whom he adored.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, at 11:00 a.m. at the River Stake Center (1380 W. 6785 S. West Jordan). Friends may call from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. A viewing will be also be held on Friday, June 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the same location.

Interment will be in Farmington City Cemetery, 500 East 200 South. The family expresses love and appreciation for the visits, service and love of so many friends, family and caregivers, and for the wonderful services of Jenkins Soffe Mortuary. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com
