Mr. Willis Burdette, after an illness of several weeks, started yesterday to visit his father-in-law in Taylor. As he was ascending the great hill, his buggy was overturned, throwing him out, but not injuring him seriously. One of the shafts of the buggy was broken and after the necessary repairs were made, he went on his way rejoicing, all covered with mud.

Brother Willis Burdette passed to his great reward in heaven, at the good age of eighty-two years.

He was Moderator of the Central Baptist Association for a number of years, a member of the Baptist church for sixty years. Deacon and member of the Lebanon Baptist Church for forty-five years.

He was a great Bible scholar and a great Sunday school teacher. His going is a great loss to Marion County, Lebanon and the Lebanon Baptist Church.

He now rests from all his labors, his good works and his consecrated life and Christian influence will live on until time shall be no more.

Brother Burdette was an uncompromising Baptist, a man of great faith. For sixty years, he earnestly contended for the faith once for all delivered to be saints. Great is his reward. Peace be to his memory.
